Update | Body of 5-y-o Jahiar Spencer found

The search for five-year-old Jahiar Spencer ended in heartbreak this morning after his body was discovered in a manhole at the back of his yard on Maple Leaf Avenue, Kingston 10.

According to police reports, the body was found around 6:48 a.m. on Wednesday during a search of the premises. Jahiar's body was found inside a pit located to the rear of the property.

The child's father has confirmed the discovery, while officers from the Half Way Tree police were quickly alerted to the scene. His body was later removed to the morgue.

Jahiar had been reported missing yesterday, sparking concern and desperate efforts to locate him.

Investigators are continuing their probe. More details are expected to follow.
