Family grows desperate as teacher missing for 19 days
It's been 19 days since Sheryl Williams had a good night's rest. Her mind is not at ease because her only daughter, 34-year-old Ruchelle Williams, is still missing.
Since Ruchelle's disappearance on Wednesday, September 15, the family has been desperately seeking answers about the teacher's disappearance. However, efforts so far have been futile.
"I don't hear anything. Nothing at all, nothing. We have been searching you know, family members, church members, pastor, and you know we have been searching wherever we can. The police, I think they are doing their own investigations," Williams told the news team.
The mother spoke in a soft tone, as she thought about her daughter, a mathematics teacher at the Marcus Garvey Technical High School. She described Ruchelle as a calm individual, whose aura filled the home with happiness.
"I am alone in the house now. We used to live together, and now I'm here alone," she said. Reports from the Brown's Town police are that on September 15, about 4 p.m., Ruchelle was last seen at a plaza dressed in a blue blouse and black pants. Calls to Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, who is head of the St Ann Police Division, for an update on the investigation went unanswered.
In an impassioned plea, Williams is clinging to the hope that her daughter will be returned home soon.
"I just want her to know that wherever she is, I want her to come home. I want her to come home, her daughter wants her to come home, her brother wants her to come home. No question asked, wherever she is we want her to come home," she told THE STAR.
