National champion Bryan Levell led a Jamaica podium sweep in the men's 200m at yesterday's Maniak Wieslawa Memorial meet in Szczecin, Poland - a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meet.

Levell, who recently ran a personal best 9.82 seconds to win the 100m at a meet in Austria and became the second-fastest Jamaican male in the event this season, was an easy winner in the half-lap event yesterday, clocking 20.26 seconds (+1.1 mps wind).

Christopher Taylor, who was hoping to hit the qualification mark of 20.16 for next month's Tokyo World Championships, will have to wait a bit longer after finishing second in 20.35, while Kadrian Goldson completed the Jamaican sweep, taking third in 20.44. Odaine McPherson ended sixth overall in 20.84.

Ryiem Forde, who finished fourth in the men's 100m at the Jamaica National Senior Championships, was also a winner on the day. Forde stopped the clock at 10.07 seconds (+1.0 mps wind) as Jamaica secured a quinella in the event, with Goldson placing second in 10.10 for his second top-three finish at the meet. Folawuyo Olaoge of Nigeria was third in 10.23 seconds.

McPherson's bid to make it four wins in a row in Europe in the event came to a halt after he was disqualified for a false start.

Both Delano Kennedy and Jevaughn Powell will have to wait a bit longer in their bids to hit the automatic qualification standard for Tokyo in the men's 400 metres after average performances in the event. Powell had to settle for second in 45.63, while Kennedy could only manage fifth in 45.90. Reece Holder of Australia was an easy winner in 44.78 seconds.

The lone Jamaican female at the meet, Candace McLeod, finished down the track in fifth in the women's 400m, clocking 52.76 seconds. Leni Shida of Uganda won the event in 52.16 seconds, ahead of Sibiri Sita of Burkina Faso, who was second in 52.49.
