Former national footballer and Arnett Gardens star Kevin 'Pele' Wilson was among 18 persons arrested and charged under the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA), after being held at a party during curfew hours in Kingston on Saturday night.

According to reports, the police were on patrol on Orange Street, off Slipe Pen Road, in an area known as Orange Villa, when they heard loud music. Upon their investigation, they found a group of people at a party.

The police said they instructed the people to go home and although the majority of patrons complied, those who did not were arrested and charged with breaching the Disaster Risk Management Act. A video of the party and arrests has been circulating on social media.

It is understood that the 43-year-old Wilson and the 17 others who were arrested and charged were granted bail and are now booked to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on June 30.

The names of all the people arrested was released by the police.

Wilson, who attended Charlie Smith High School during the '90s, was the talisman for the Trench Town-based school at the time, scoring a season-high 23 goals in leading his alma mater to the triple crown (Manning and Walker Cups and Oliver Shield).

He soon became and regular for his boyhood club, Arnett Gardens, where he starred and helped them to win two Premier League titles. He also had a stint overseas with Montreal Impact (1998 and 2002) and briefly with August Town locally.

He famously gained instant national recognition after he made his debut for the senior national team as a 17-year-old against Norway in 1995 and score in his first game.

However, he failed to become a regular with the Reggae Boyz, playing his last game for the national team in 2002.
