JCF officers charged with murder

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), has confirmed that two police officers have been charged with murder, following the shooting death Kingston resident Phillip Wallace in July.

Charged is Corporal Miguel Ebanks and Constable Purcell Carter, two members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

Corporal Ebanks and Constable Carter were each charged with the following offences:

  • Murder
  • Shooting with intent
  • Making use of a firearm to commit a felony

Corporal Ebanks was further charged with two counts of committing an act of corruption.

Corporal Ebanks and Constable Carter will remain in police custody until the next mention date. The officers will return to court on Friday, August 5, 2022.
