Rygin King to head out on ‘Therapy’ tour

Following the release of his highly anticipated album Therapy, dancehall artiste Rygin King is gearing up to hit the US with a tour of the same name.

"A nuh di first time mi forward out on a tour. You know 2018 I did a couple shows in New York, Philly and Connecticut just to name a few places and they were lit. But now, you know we a forward out different," the entertainer said.

The tour kicks off on November 24 in Queens, New York, before heading to Hartford, Connecticut, on the 25th. The deejay will be back in New York, specifically Brooklyn, on November 27. On December 2, he heads to Houston, Texas, and then the DMV [Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia] area on December 11. He will make an appearance in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 16 before rounding things off in New Jersey on December 17 and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on January 21, 2023.

The 16-track album, which was released on September 9 by Rygin Trap Records, debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

"The feedback has been genuinely amazing so far. People everywhere a tell mi how much dem love di album and how they connect with the songs on a different level, it's just a good feeling hearing that," he said.

The popular deejay has been consistently creating waves in the dancehall since he first came on the scene. He is known for major hits like Tuff, 3ZN and No Emotion.

The St James native, whose given name is Matthew Smith, is encouraging fans to continue to show their love to the project.

"Mi wah tell di people dem seh fi support di album. Support di movements and nuh stop pray. Nuh forget God," he said, before adding "The focus now is on the new album but whole heap more work in the pipeline."
