Vershon urges more caution on roads for holidays
Dancehall recording artiste Vershon had planned for a laid-back Thanksgiving trip to his family in Georgia, but ended up in the Wellstar Douglas Hospital after a car accident last Wednesday, November 27.
Vershon, given name Kemar Brown, told THE STAR, “The last thing I remember is the vehicle making contact with a truck.”
The entertainer, who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by an in-law, claimed that he was on his way to meet his cousin, veteran artiste Delly Ranks, when the incident occurred.
He joins the list of dancehall entertainers, including Chronic Law, Aidonia, and Stylysh that have been involved in motor vehicle accidents over the past two months.
He cautioned motorists to slow down and be more vigilant, especially around the holiday season.
“Persons, not only of the entertainment fraternity, have packed schedules and the roads are always filled with craziness from fast drivers to mischievous characters looking to rob. Take heed of the busy holiday period. Be more vigilant to stay safe. There is always a need to drive with others in mind, and remember to pray.”
The Inna Real Life deejay is currently nursing minor wounds, recovering at his family’s residence since he was discharged from hospital last Friday. He is expected to return to the island in a few days.
“Nah lie. Me a feel pain pon top a pain. Just have to take it easy. Although the doctors gave me medication, they advised me to seek medical assistance if it doesn’t get better.”
With the year coming to an end, Vershon said that this was a warning for him to just take life easy.
“The year is almost over. Any other projects, whether to record or release music, will be next year. I am working on an EP with UK-based Fanatix. once I have recovered fully, my focus will return to that,” he said.
