Chromatic Sound gets two new members
Chromatic Sound has added two members to its growing team. Bukka and Brush 1, the new additions, say they are elated to be joining what they regard as the "biggest and baddest" sound system in Jamaica.
Bukka and Brush 1 Chromatic were part of Transformers, a sound system that started on the college circuit.
Brush 1 told THE WEEKEND STAR that Creep from Chromatic saw them playing while they were at a college event and invited them to play at Pan Di Plaza more than a year and half ago.
"He heard us play, and he reached out to us to be on Pan Di Plaza, and that was our first big outta-road event, and from that, thing just picked up. People began to know Transformers. We kept in contact, and they kept calling us for their events. I guess through them seeing us as family and we seeing them as family, we decided some of us would join with them," said Brush 1.
"At first, it was just a 'what if' conversation, and then it became something real. We weighed the pros and cons and met with the other members of Transformers and decided that joining with them would make sense. In a way, it would help our Transformers brand. It was through them that our thing went up to a certain level."
Brush 1 said that the decision to join Chromatic will not affect Transformers as the other two members will continue the building of that brand.
"The sound itself always benefited from individual work, and this will be no different. Transformers will continue with the other two members, Magic and Jimmy Q. Because of the level of exposure we got from Chromatic, our thing has grown. While we a work on this side, the other two members will pick up the torch and run with it on that side."
Bukka, the other new member, echoed sentiments shared by his colleague. He described the Chromatic unit as a family and said he is looking forward to working with them further.
"It's a feeling of accomplishment knowing that I am representing the number-one sound in Jamaica. I'm elated and excited for the new journey that I'm now embarking on. It is indeed a true family unit. We all have our different personalities, but we all get the chance to express ourselves without fear."
